The figure for the total summer Games medals won by Australia on the Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia_at_the_paralympics) is 961, but I am fairly sure that the numbers just add up to 960.
In addition, we think that this total includes the silver won in tennis in 1988 when it was a demonstration sport. The medals for this event are still listed on the IPC results database, but we have drawn this to the attention of the IPC for removal, as the IPC policy is that medals in demonstration sports don’t count on the medal tally for the Games.
That would mean that Australia’s total summer tally would be 959 before now.
Does this seem right?

TN

Tony
You are correct on both counts:
1. The medal table by Games does add up to 960 not 961
2. Yes the WC Tennis Silver medal from seoul 1988 is still part of figures which needs to change with grand total being 959 Summer Medals & 28 Winter Medals = 987 medals.
Also been through the Medal by Sport & there are a number of incorrect totals
