Haxayurt Burning Man 2013 - can we get one?

Hi there everyone,

 

We are travelling form Europe and wanted a Hexayurt, for two people. We could basically come pick he mateirals up on the Playa and construct completely independently (if needs be etc) but would anyone be able to bring the materials in for us so we could buy them off them? Bring enough for an EXTRA Hexayurt! We would be happy to pre pay obviously!

 

Any suggestions on how we can do this or anyone who can help us?

 

We would be happy to pay accordingly if anyone could help us - we need a home on the Playa!!

There were a couple of people doing hexayurts on a commercial basis here - some rentals, some to buy. I can't find the links right now, at a conference. Can somebody find the links?

Hi Vinay!!!

I am a huge fan of the hexayurt! I would like to build one for my camp and this is my first time at Burning Man. Where would one buy thermax for a good rate? I have been looking online but have had no such luck. Could you offer any suggestions?

In the U.S. Home Depot carries what we need. 

Please do NOT cut R-Max on the playa & make certain all exposed edges have been taped before coming out.

In Oakland, AmSteel is huge and would very likely have some rental space for basic construction & assembly.

I plan on setting it up before I get to the playa and then attaching roof once I get there.

Well then you sound like you know what you're doing. AmSteal in Oakland might be your best bet for space for build.

Oh I only have an idea. Why would AmSteal be a better space to build? I am based out of LA. Your input is greatly appreciated!!

To the BM Hexayurt Community.

Thank you for your participation in our 1st year's effort to build and rent almost two dozen Hexayurts. Response has been very positive, so much so that we are totally out of Hexayurts for this year. BIG Mahalo to those of you who signed on. Very sorry to those of you who are a bit too late this year. Please be in touch much earlier next year and we can take care of your needs. But we must hear from you by June 1, 2014. We'll remind you then.

Julie Danger or Vinay or Someone should be shortly posting about the Hexayurt BRC Cocktail Hour. 

I am also hosting a Cocktail Hour for all Hexayurt Dwellers, at Bob's Bar in Illumination Village. Date & Time(sic) to be announced later.

If any of you traveling from afar do manage to build your Hexayurt in Oakland or Reno, we may be able to offer you storage after the Burn. Please PM me before Aug 5. 

We are also seeking a couple of more qualified Hexayurt Builder Helpers to assist in final assembly in BRC Fri - Sun prior to gates. We are offering to trade your time for an Early Admit pass. If you've a Hexayurt to put up, you've also got a crew behind you! Please pm me if you've interest.
