I'm just writing this based on the question i had on IRC earlier today
for instance, I may only want to list top level pages on menu topic ->
habari, then have the abilty to list sub-sections habari/plugins,
habari/themes a way to group information together but have a
relationship to those top level pages. My view and use of pages itself
is that pages should differentiate itself from an entry by allowing
you to specify parent/child pages.

I love to make it easy for visitors to find information fast and give
me the opportunity do to this with pages when i use section page > sub-
section page.

And here i most have to speak a little about Breadcrumb, some people
really like to use the "Breadcrumb navigation" myself love it when i
come to sites that use it when they have pages with sub-sections makes
it easy and more clear for me to locate in there heirarchical of
pages.

Should be a good way to be implemented into k2 theme or maybe
implement into habari who knows. People often think that when defined
different types of sub-sections that automatically thought a
navigation menu "path breadcrumbs" showing up on the page they
currently are on for easy location on the site just not on the sidebar
or where they may have locate there menu for sub-section page to
appear.

A little info about Breadcrumb

And as ringmaster wrote

[ringmaster]: And if we include breadcrumbs, that's two functions
already for "sub-page" implementation: list_sub_pages() and
get_breadcrumb()
[ringmaster]: But there could be more functions. What does WP *not* do
that we could also add? What does WP do well? What does WP do poorly?
[ringmaster]: This particular feature is something we've not really
fleshed out.
[ringmaster]: I don't think I have any personal use for heirarchical
pages, but I know others do, so lets discuss it.
[ringmaster]: starjive, write up your dream system. Send it to the
list. We'll discuss and hopefully implement it.
[ringmaster]: The reason you haven't seen any discussion is only
because you didn't start one. ;)

/I know i like it but some doesn't use or even need pages, so lets
discuss it good or bad ?..

I second this. Menu's can get quite long if you cant filter out
parent&child.

Also, why do pages show up as a post when you're listing all posts?
Shouldn't they be filtered out?

I'm currently working on a way for rewrite_rules to allow optional elements, this feature would require such a thing IMO.

I'm working on a <!--next-->, wich will do /slug/page/2.. maybe to allow subpages, we could have /<page>/<subsection>, how do you see the URL itself Starjive?

Breadcrumbs would be a must.. useful for theme designers, wouldn't be a setback for them.

"all posts" meaning no filters, pages will be listed. you need to filter the content_type to 'entry' for posts only.
