Hello all!!!

"International Convention on Solar Photovoltaic Technology: A Precursor to ICORE 2009"

"ICORE 2009: International Congress on Renewable Energy"

 http://spt09.co.cc/

THEME for Convention: Capitalizing Human Resource for Solar Photovoltaic: Challenges and Solutions

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) in collaboration with the Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) is organizing an International Convention on Solar Photovoltaic Technology: A precursor to ICORE 2009, and a Poster Presentation Competition on the 5th of October 2009.

• INTRODUCTION: Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) solutions have the potential to transform lives across India. Solar photovoltaic is seen as one of the most viable solution for growing energy demands as India has huge potential for solar power, given that most parts of the country have clear sunny days almost throughout the year. Specific drivers for Solar photovoltaic in India include the country’s rapidly rising primary energy needs, the persistent energy deficit situation, the country’s overdependence on coal for electricity generation and on oil and gas imports.
However PV sector is facing a huge manpower shortage. Infact, it is projected by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, that about 100,000 jobs will be created by the PV industry by 2020 and Industry expects that the figures could be much higher once all job linkages are taken into consideration.
The convention is tailor-made and focused for the students, faculties, researchers and scientists looking for new opportunities in this emerging area.

The committee comprises of noted national and international experts from the field of Solar Photovoltaic who will talk on:
• CONVENTION TOPICS:
Global warming, Climate Change and the role of Renewable
Recent trends in Renewable energy technology developments: An overview
