GM_xmlhttpRequest sometimes not returning

Have installed GM 0.9.1 with Firefox 4 beta 11.
I've got a GM_xmlhttpRequest call - it's always worked
- so i know the setup is right.
With this installation, sometimes the onload or onerror
properties do not get invoked.
It's odd - because it works most times. but sometimes
it doesn't work.
help!
