Hello, GTFS group.

 

I wanted to let you know that the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has just publicly released its GTFS feed as part of a new Developer Center. You can add us to the list at http://code.google.com/p/googletransitdatafeed/wiki/PublicFeeds.

 

Basic info:

 

Agency: Chicago Transit Authority (CTA)

Area: Chicago area, IL

Feed information at: http://www.transitchicago.com/developers/gtfs.aspx (contains link to feed package location)

Notes: Use is subject to terms of CTA's Developer License Agreement. More data/feeds at the CTA Developer Center.

What a great resource!

I've flipped the official bit on the gtfs-data-exchange CTA entry, and
updated CityGoRound.org to reflect the newly open data. Chicago has
the fourth-highest annual passenger miles (behind three New York-area
agencies), and is by far the largest agency we've had the privilege to
take off the "no open data" list since we started CityGoRound. Thank
you so much.
