Hi,

I've just tried to install Chrome Frame for the first time to do some
testing. I followed the instructions on-screen only to find that
Chrome Frame didn't work properly (I was using IE6). After a couple
more attempts, I decided to try rebooting immediately after
installation. When the computer came back up, everything worked as
expected.

Is it normal to have to reboot? Just curious, because an extra line in
the installation docs (or a prompt after installation) would be a time
saver.

Thanks,
Nicholas

After the download you just need to restart IE. There's a programmatic API for install (http://www.chromium.org/developers/how-tos/chrome-frame-getting-started#TOC-Detecting-Google-Chrome-Frame-and-P) that allows you to avoid this step for your users. A reboot is rarely needed.

Hey Nicholas,

Were you going through the normal install flow? If so, neither a
reboot or browser restart should be necessary. There's a script on the
landing page that makes sure the current browser instance gets Chrome
Frame activated.

Would like to know more about your situation if that process wasn't working.

Regards
