It looks like the Google Checkout module isn't turned on. Have you
enabled the module in the settings panel >modules>payment>
Googlecheckout>Edit?

Hi
Thanks for looking it is turned on and the light is green on the admin
panel for it and it is set as the default and it does show up as an
option for check out but when you select it give you the page to check
address and the like but when you hit confirm it just goes back to the
begining of check out again. The paypal modul is working fine. I was
hoping to get google working as I really want an alternative to Paypal
but it looks like I might have to launch the new site with out it. Any
other ideas?
Thanks
T

You didn't move the templates folder to the correct spot. Google
Checkout should not appear as a radio button option at Step 2 of the
Regular Checkout. It should only appear at step one. Look at my site
for an idea of what it should look like: https://www.ozelloshrimper.com/cart/

Here is how to fix it:

Go to "/shopPaypalis/includes/templates" and you will see a folder
called "YOUR_TEMPLATE". Take the contents of it and copy it to
whatever the name of your current template is (crazy masks or
whatever.)

Here is where this was noted in the installation instructions

"For your reference, here is the list of files you need to copy over
to your system:

YOUR_ZENCART_FOLDER/includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates:
tpl_checkout_payment_default.php
tpl_gc_return_display.php
tpl_gc_return_noproduct.php
tpl_login_default.php
tpl_shopping_cart_default.php
tpl_time_out_default.php

* Note: The folder YOUR_TEMPLATE refers to the folder that contains
your templates.
The folder YOUR_TEMPLATE in the package refers to the folder that
contains
your templates, you must put the files in /includes/templates/
YOUR_TEMPLATE/
in your own templates dir there you should see the GC buy button."

Have fun!

This is correct.

> It should only appear at step one.

Actually it should not appear on step one (that is the shipping method
page in Zen Cart checkout).

The GC "button" icon should only appear on the Zen Cart :shopping
cart" and "login" pages.

@tbokich - Just a reminder...

To receive best support please specify your issue in the subject line
heading when initiating a new thread. For example "Selecting Google
Checkout on step 2 of Zen Cart checkout does not work" or something
similar is helpful. "Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)" is
just a bit too general. After all this entire support forum is all
about "Google Checkout module for Zen Cart (beta)". :wink2:

Thanks,
Woody

Great thank you it did get the button up and it works. In the
instructions it says if you have not added any modules to Zen Cart
then you can just directly copy everything in and it will work which I
did but did not open the template folder far enough down when I copied
everything into the includes folder a good note for people to pay
attention to as they are copying the files over.

Although the button does work as soon as these files were ;laced in
the template file this took out the radio button for Google is there
any way to put a radio button back in so a customer can continue
through check out with the Google option. Thanks so much for getting
me straight with this

>From what I understand, Google Checkout Module developers had the
radio button enabled in previous releases but decided to remove it
from the checkout screen sometime prior to this release.

Personally, I would like to enable the button if I so desired but, I
can see their point of view.

I chose to make my normal shopping cart checkout button a "Cash" only
button for C.O.D. Since I only accept GC, PayPal and C.O.D. with no
shipping offered, I can do that. All I have to do a bit later is go
in and delete the references to PayPal that came with the express
checkout module.

Have fun!

We ship world wide and can not do the COD part. Thanks for all the
info it was very helpfull I will just have to put a longer explanation
of how to use Google in the check pages. Many people do not like
Paypal so I think it is great to have an alternative for customers.

Thanks again for your help

Only customers logged into the shop can access the Zen Cart Checkout pages
(step 1-3).

Google Checkout is just not a "payment" method. It is a total "checkout"
system.

The main thing to remember here is GC policy mandates shops NOT require a
shop login for customers using GC.

But yes I too would desire to be able to use Zen Cart checkout system to
support a GC payment, just like I can using PayPal IPN.

But this would appear to be counter to Google business/profit strategies. GC
merchants begin paying CC fees in 2008. But I also hear rumors that in the
future Google ads may be integrated into Google checkout pages. I hope this
is not true.
