High HTTP500 errors

Hi, we are seeing high http500 errors, 0.2% of requests,

"Request was aborted after waiting too long to attempt to service your
request. This may happen sporadically when the App Engine serving
cluster is under unexpectedly high or uneven load. If you see this
message frequently, please contact the App Engine team."

This is especially acute today but problems started on the 2nd of Jan
and have been occurring daily.

What is even weirder, is that today, they always happen at around 30
minutes past the hour, every hour.
