October 27 - Short service outage

[App Engine Team]

Starting at approximately 7:30PM PST, App Engine applications began
experiencing higher latency and a significant increate in 500 errors
causing many applications to be unavailable to users. The on-call team
was paged as latencies increased and monitored the situation closely.
The problem was determined to be a transient issue in the underlying
Google infrastructure running in our current datacenter. Though we
actively considered failing traffic over to a secondary datacenter,
performance began to improve shortly after 8:00PM PST. At 8:10PM PST,
the oncall team announced the all clear.

We apologize for the issue and the impact it had to your
applications. We are continuing our ongoing effort to improve the
infrastructure that powers App Engine in order to prevent flair ups
such as this from affecting your applications.
