Since 9:30am Pacific on September 27, 2010, we have been experiencing
additional datastore latency, with periods of large spikes between 2pm
and 4pm. Latencies returned to an elevated state this morning,
September 28th. We are currently addressing the issues with the
datastore while looking into longer term fixes for the issues at
hand.
Updates on these issues will be posted into this thread.

Update: We've made a production change that has resulted in more
predictable datastore behavior, reducing the number of latency spikes
that have been occurring. We'll be monitoring the situation and taking
some additional steps to lower the latency.
