Apologies for the dumb question, but I can't seem to get the
keybinding change to take. Apparently some of the Lifehacker users
have had the same issue:

http://lifehacker.com/software/featured-linux-download/fast-file-and-program-launching-with-gnome-do-330110.php

In the Configuration Editor, I've changed the key to:

Control+Space

And killed and restarted it three times. Any idea as to what would
work?

Did you change the key to "<Control>space"? "Control+Space" is wrong for sure.

That did it, thanks David. I'd tried a variety of combinations
including <Ctl>space, but apparently not the right one.

Thanks.

If you find anywhere where someone is having a similar problem, please
pass this along.

Hi!

I have the same problem. No binding which includes "Space" key works
for me. No problem whith non-space keys.
Using Compiz-Fussion, Ubuntu Gutsy, First Generation Macbook.

Did you try "space" with a lower-case "s"?

Oh! Stupid me! That fixed the problem (although I've already got used
to "<Control>less" keybinding)

Thanks!
