Greetings.

I think there is a need for an easy accessible list of online
eyeglass/ eyeglass stores that will
accept frames (either new ones that customers buy elsewhere) or old
ones that need to be re-lensed.

Most of the online stores I have looked at do not offer this service.

So far the only one that i know does is
www.selectspecs.com

Ira, I suggest you make a list available on your website with the info
of online stores that will re-lens and also include whether they will
do progressive and high index rx's.

Well, let's not just dump a bunch of work on Ira. The least we can do
is to generate the list for him.

So, let's get started. Your entry should be the first in the list.
Others can add to it, as they see fit. My addition will be $39.

Let's not forget the king of re-lensing (king as is royal prices) but
also excellent quality with real, name brand materials.

selectspecs.com is about $150 for high index plastic+progressive,
including a non specified AR for relens.

39dollarglasses.com as far as i see on their price list only offers
high index plastic in single lens, not progressive. They only offer
progressive in polycarb (which i think is 1.59 index generally.)

eyeglasslensdirect.com has high index, progressive, but when you add
the Crizal AR you are roughly over $300.

Here's a list I posted last year:

http://www.eyeglasslensdirect.com/
http://www.39dollarglasses.com/
http://www.eyeglasses.com/
http://www.wohloptics.com/
http://www.replacealens.com/

I've used 39 Dollar Glasses and Eyeglass Lens Direct once each.
Eyeglass Lens Direct delivered a very high quality product in less
than two weeks. 39 Dollar Glasses took 7.5 weeks and had minor
workmanship issues.

Hey,

May I add http://www.optical4less.com

I have not done relensing with them but I know of someone who has and
was satisfied with their relensing. Overall, the prices are just as
cheap or cheaper than the other stores.

Good luck developing this list!
