I suppose you were still using the gerris/gfsview packages made for
ubuntu 10.10.
I have just released the packages for ubuntu 11.04. See:
http://gfs.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu/Debian_installation
Change your repositories (remove 10.10 and add 11.04), update your
packages and see if this fixes your problem.
I suspect it will not. As you can see in your error messages, this is
not strictly a problem with gfsview but a bug of libmurrine.so? which
triggers a floating-point exception. You should report the bug on the
ubuntu forums.
If the problem persists, we will try to find a workaround.
cheers

Do you mean that following these instructions:
http://gfs.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu/Debian_installation
doesn't work? What's happening?

OK. This is a bug in Ubuntu (I suspect it has to do with all the stuff
they did to make the new Ubuntu look "pretty"). The workaround is to
turn off floating-point exceptions in Gerris. I will see what I can
do.
Could you please try again and tell me exactly where things go wrong.
This should work if you follow the instructions.
> Yes when I follow the instructions of this link I have never achieved to
I had the same problem despite compiling from source. Solution: login as classic gnome, it gets rid of the new ubuntu pretty-ness :) --- On Mon, 5/16/11, Juvénal Dufaur <jdu...@gmail.com> wrote: |
