Hi all,

Not sure if this is an active discussion group, but I figured I would
try here first

Under Lion, with Itunes 10.4 (both released today, i know...) Fluke no
longer works. It seems to be the fact that itunes is now 64bit.

A temporary work around I have found is viewing info on the itunes
application in finder and telling it to run in 32 bit mode... this
isnt ideal. but it works

any ideas?

Hey!

I haven't got Lion yet. Will try to upgrade later this week and see what's up.

Go into Applications, right-click on iTunes, go Get Info and tick off `Open in 32-bit Mode`

On a MacMini 1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo (32 bit) running Mac OS 10.6.8
(latest Snow Leopard) and iTunes 10.4 (80), there is no option to
"Open in 32-bit Mode" because it is only a 32-bit processor. I am
having the same problem with Fluke 0.2.5b with not having iTunes
recognize the flac files. Perhaps the lack of functionality is not
only associated with running iTunes in 32-bit mode?

Thank you for your time and effort in looking into what Apple may have
done to iTunes to create whatever may be going wrong here!

Thanks for chiming in! I'm still not on Lion (stupid backup drive, why you no work) but I will be by the end of the week and try to take a look at this.

Changing to Itunes to 32 bit mode worked for me. This bit of info has
been a godsend for me. To think, I would have had to use VLC to play
my flac files! Now I like VLC for video, but it blows for music.

I dug around and it appears that the libraries Fluke uses (XiphQT, namely) do not support the 64-bit kernel that Lion ships with for Intel Macs. Which means Lion support isn't something that'll be a quick fix..

Changing to 32 bit worked for me.
Is there any difference for the performance of the OS or iTunes in
doing this?

Hey!

I've posted in another thread: the libraries behind fluke are not
available in 64 bit yet. Basically you have to right click on iTunes,
get info and set it to run in 32 bit mode for now.

where should we look for updates on this? the discussion board seems
to be flooding with spam.
