It would be helpful if you can reference the bug report that prevents
you from using Firebug 1.2 on Firefox so we know what to focus on
first.

I have the same problem. I need to debug code in eval(). I used to
use 1.1eval.91.1.05 or 1.1.

But I was too excited about FF3. Firebug 1.2 in FF3 is no comparison
to Firebug 1.1 in FF2. I want to roll back unless there is an
alternative.

Removing http://getfirebug.com/releases/firebug/1.1/firebug-1.1.0b12.xpi
is a huge mistake.

Firebug 1.2 is all that Firebug 1.1 was an more....

No, not a mistake. More like an explosion. Something blew up in a data
center and getfirebug.com did not come out alive. The current
getfirebug.com is some old data on a new server thanks to mozilla
folks. The 1.1 distro was not in the old data I guess.

That said, I am not encouraging getfirebug.com to offer 1.1. If there
are problems in 1.2 lets fix them. The 1.2 code is way better and many
bugs in 1.1 are gone. Some new ones may have appeared, but its so
much easier to work on 1.2 that I don't expect problems in fixing
bugs. If there were any reports anyway.

I agree. We should help filing bugs for Firebug 1.2 to improve it.
In the mean time, I dowloaded Firebug 1.1 from

Alternatively, you can still grab the old source, build, and install:

$ svn export http://fbug.googlecode.com/svn/branches/firebug1.1
$ cd firebug1.1
$ ant
$ open dists/firebug-1.1.0b12X.xpi
