I've been a passionate English learner,but recently,due to my mess like life,I don't want to learn anymore. I think I've lost the intrest of learning English. My girl friend will graduate this year, she's hunting job these days,but we fine she couldn't get a good job. She don't know what she could do. And I have a nother year of being a collage student,I have a little to help her. We feel we are at sea now. Under this situation, do you have any advise for my English-study and self promotion?

Kelvin.

Dear Kelvin,

I think you have he same problem of hundreds of collage/university students around the world. No matter what position you want to work even more companies are asking for English skill or the so terrible 'English fluent' in its job descriptions. This make a kind of pressure on people head and increase the stress. Don´t you agree ?

I think it´s hard to keep motivate to learn english when you study it just because you need it, anyway a way to overcome this difficult is to have English as a hobby, or something you enjoy to study without to study by pressure.

That´s my opinion.

take care friend

Ed.

Hello Kelvin,

I agree with Ed that the best and foremost motivation has to be the
drive from within;
if you don't find it fun or useful to learn English,it's very easy to
feel discouraged or frustrated.
As a consequence,once you feel so,it's harder to make progress...

If I were you,I would only touch the materials that is light and
entertaining;
take it as if going back to the babyhood where
you feel safe and playful.

I would also love to emphasize to all that
the sooner you get rid of the idea that English is just a subject or a
way to get better jobs,the faster you will make a break through!
Make it a TOOL instead.Once you find it useful...to read an English
book,to watch an English movie,to listen to an English song or to go
to an English lecture,you are automatically curious,interested and
motivated!

I hope what I have just said maked you feel a bit better...

Good luck and great weekend!
