Hi there,

I am using Electric with LTSpice XVII (64 bit). When I ran a potential divider schematic as per the first tutorial of CMOSEdu (http://cmosedu.com/videos/electric/tutorial1/electric_tutorial_1.htm) I was able to get LTSPICE pop up in interactive mode and see waveforms. I then unchecked the ‘automatically delete raw file’ in the LTSPICE control panel. When I changed the Electric setting to batch mode, I did not get any Electric waveform window/probe window popping up. Also, in the ‘Explorer’ tab in the left, no signals are getting displayed. The error shown was:

ERROR: No simulation data found: waveform window not shown

Whereas .raw and .op.raw files are present in the library folder.
What could be the problem? I am using the following arguments in the User Preferences >Tools > SPICE/CDL:

-b ${FILENAME} -r ${FILENAME_NO_EXT}.raw -o ${FILENAME_NO_EXT}.out

What could be going wrong? Any suggestions are most welcome.

Electric version: 9.07

Thanks and Regards,
Arvind Gupta.

That should be due to a problem with both LTspice and Electric.

The problem with LTspice is that the raw file format has changed.

As evidence of that, there is the statement at [1]:

"Regarding the error with LTSpice XVII, as Joshua Jones pointed out, the error is due to the new version of LTspice using UTF16 encoding for .RAW files."

The problem with Electric is that it hasn't been updated to read the new LTspice XVII RAW format.  As you have probably seen, there is currently no experienced Java programmer for Electric which is needed for doing that [2].

As was mentioned in the past, the current workaround should be to open the RAW file directly with LTspice [3,4].
