Daniel Handler is the author of three novels, including The Basic
Eight and Watch Your Mouth, 15 books for children (including A Series
of Unfortunate Events ), and a collection of short stories entitled
Adverbs. He also writes under the name "The Pope."

Alvin Orloff began writing as a teenage lyricist for one of San
Francisco's oddest '70s punk bands, The Blowdryers. He floundered
through the '80s and '90s as a DJ, telemarketer, performance artist,
college student, fork lift operator, 'zinester, and exotic dancer
before settling down to the humble life of a bookstore clerk and
novelist. He is the author of I Married An Earthling, an alien
invasion/queer romance novel, and Gutter Boys, a New Wave anti-love
story with ghosts, both on Manic D Press. He lives in the Mission and
doggedly continues to write.

Chantal Okeeffe takes care of blind, deaf, and other rescue dogs. She
likes growing things, going on drives, and investigating the curious
inhabitants of dark bars. She is currently working on a children's
book and several short stories.

Adam Balbo: San Francisco-resident Adam Balbo hails from Indiana, Land
of the Indians, and has also lived for a time in Beijing, capital of
the Middle Kingdom. Through his travels and cheese-frying experience,
Balbo has a particular insight that informs his roughly-hewn folk
numbers and Casio-beat anthems.
