Energy Flair – Lead Web Developer

Job Description
Interested in working with a startup that’s trying to help people
reduce their impact on the environment? Then help us build out Energy
Flair, a new online service that encourages residential utility
customers to reduce their energy consumption in exchange for virtual
badges (“flair”), which can be showcased on Facebook and Twitter.

Qualifications
Required
• Facebook / Twitter apps (experience automatically posting a status
update to someone’s Wall or sending out a tweet on their behalf)
• Hands-on Ruby experience

Nice To Have
• Database design and administration (MySQL, Oracle)
• Usability/graphic design
• Functional and technical design documentation
• Testing experience – writing, executing, bug tracking
• Experience working with electric or natural gas utilities

Compensation
Negotiable, depending on experience. Bonus in the form of company
ownership also possible.

Location and Timeline
The project will be virtual, so you can work from anywhere and
whenever you want. It will start in early October 2010 and last until
December 2010 but could be extended if appropriate.

Company Overview
TerraPerks is a startup founded by a Texas Ex in May 2010. Our
mission is to recognize individuals for being environmentally
responsible. We have already received a pre-seed investment from the
Momentum business incubator in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and launched a
prototype of Energy Flair.
