Announcing the Cyni network inference toolbox for Cytoscape 3

We are pleased to announce the first beta release of Cytoscape Network Inference (Cyni) Toolbox available for download on the Cytoscape App Store (http://apps.cytoscape.org/apps/cynitoolbox).

To biologists, Cyni is a collection of tools for network inference available through a user-friendly interface.

To methods and tool developers, Cyni is a framework that supports and simplifies implementation of new network induction algorithms in Cytoscape 3. 

Cyni provides:
– Several commonly used network inference techniques
– Data imputation and discretization techniques for preprocessing
– Documented API
– Tutorials and sample code (http://www.tinyurl.com/cyniproject)
