Dear All,

Can anyone tell me the minimum stamp duty to be paid on transfer of shares

Case:

Transfer of 10 shares @ Rs.10/- each equals to 100/-
0.25% on Rs.100/- comes to 0.25 paise

Is it require to affix the stamp & if required, where this will be available

Hi
Stamp must be affixed
& stamp duty should not be less than Rs0.25
it does not say that it should not exceed Rs. 0.25

Note that w.e.f 01.06.2010 share valuation is mandatory for transfer of
shares even for private limited companies. then stamp duty shall be
paid on valuation amount, subject minimum consideration of nominal
value of shares.

learned professionals may confirm the same.

Thanks
