What's up coworkers,

Office Nomads has been happily using Dropbox for our file share needs between various team members and have been loving it. We particularly dig having all files sync up automatically across several users and computers - the system is simple, easy, and so far, free. We love free. Sadly, we're coming upon our space limits and I figured I'd throw it out to the group to see what others are doing before we start throwing money around. So here are my questions:

-Does anyone have any contacts at Dropbox or a similar organization who might be interested in supporting coworking spaces in terms of their file storage needs (for running the space only and/or member storage solutions as well)?
-What are you using to store your space-related docs, photos, videos, etc.? Got a great solution you can share with me?

Thanks a bunch in advance, and I can't wait to see many of you in TX soon!

Susan

We used to use Dropbox, but it is banned in China now :(

For space management, internal communication, file sharing and co-editing, we use Basecamp.
For photo sharing - Flickr
For video sharing - we used to use Vimeo, but it is sometimes banned in China too, so now we switch to Chinese tudou.com and yoku.com.
For coworker database managing: Highrise is our favorite!

For basecamp and highrise we do pay some fee, but they have good value for money.

But with HR or BaseCamp, you have to upload files one at a time.  Can you batch upload?

Susan et al,

NextSpace is hosted by Google Apps so we keep all of our docs there which are spreadsheets and word processing. We use flickr for photos.   That way the Dropbox limits get saved for our PDFs or design files that can't live anywhere else.

Hi Susan,

I love Dropbox and have run into the free limitation before. When I
thought about all the convenience of Dropbox, and how much I use it
each day, it made paying for it a no-brainer. Easily worth the
value. Consider the paid version. IIRC, you get 50GB for $100/year.
50GB should last a long, long time, assuming you're not sharing videos
and such.

$0.02

Thanks for the thoughts everyone! This is really helpful. I'll keep you posted as to what we figure out.

We use tungle quite a bit for scheduling our own meetings - I think it will depend on what you're looking to schedule with how it'll work for you.
