Hi, Jack,
My baby coworking space is in the Netherlands. I found my furniture
at auction actually, from an auction site. Somewhere in Holland an
office of Ernst & Young was closed which released a flood of nice
furniture onto the market. I still am pissed that I lost the bid
battle for the nifty automatic electronic screen with the remote
control. However, since anything that can break is my fault, fewer
moving parts is better. And to my surprise nobody wants a beamer or a
screen so far. But still. :-)
I have no real operating procedures but I, er, am not crazy about them
in general. I am sure somebody has some you can look at.
We have both WIFI and direct cable at folks' option and about a
bazillion data ports, but the former tenant was an IT company and so
they were already installed. Everywhere. With power plugs next to
them. So that was a plus. It is a much commented upon feature,
people notice it even in the photos we have on LI and Facebook and so
on. Apparently it is something people notice. So if you are going to
have dataports, have plenty.
Another thing which many people ask about is the firewall and so
forth. Our current rule is that to turn the firewall off you have to
convince my spouse and network guy (IT genius in residence) that you
1) have a good reason and 2) know what you are doing. This does not
usually take very long to sort out. Password to the network is changed
regularly.
Hope this helps,
Jeannine
