Has anyone ever used / experimented with using an ATI Radeon 9200 MAC
PCI graphics card on a SB150 with Solaris? I really need more than 32MB
of video that sun offers and have heard some info that leads me to
believe this may work.

Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Well why don't you use the XVR-100 with 64MB of memory then!?

The XVR-100 is nearly $300 and I know as a fact that it is an ATI Radeon
7000 MAC Edition. I would prefer the 128MB.

XVR-100 from Sun on ebay?
Fifty bucks.

XVR-500 from Sun on ebay?
Two hundred and fifty bucks.

Peace of mind from low risk solution?
Priceless.

It's actually *based* on a Radeon Mac edition but is not exactly the
same. Using a Mac card will not work which is why others have
suggested different Sun cards.

I think they are the same. Hovever the poster asked for Raden 9200 and
the Sun/Mac card is Radeon 7000.
This is where I think problem lies.

I myself would not hesitate to try a Radeon 7000 Mac for my Suns.
I never found them cheaply enough anywhere to warrant the mess.
