"Coming in July 2011 will be the next generation portable Apple IIgs.
The all-new A2GS-L01"

Whatever happened to this project? First it was going to be
"revealed" during Kansasfest 2010, that didn't happen & then the above
was posted. It's been 3+ months now since Kansasfest 2011, and I've
seen nothing about this. The site seems to have been abandoned.

Did you try contacting them from their "contact us" form?
http://www.a2gs.com/contact_us.html

Of course, that won't help if they aren't paying attention to it
anymore, but you didn't say whether you'd done it already so I figured I
throw it out there.

When I saw that thing announced I thought it sounded pretty cool, but it
also sounded like it wasn't something I was going to have much hope of
affording and I really had doubts they'd really get it out. But then, I
tend to be overly pessimistic about stuff like this.

Your pessimism is well justified.

Products consist of products, not pre-announcements.

Since there is no large potential Apple II market, any pre-announcement is
unnecessary at best and worse at worst. ;-(

If you want as close to the real thing, then don't think you can do
much better than with an old Powerbook G3..

Looks like their blog was updated last Saturday, possibly in response
to this thread:

Wow--and I take reliable postal service for granted...

It is not too unusual for mail items to disappear but they usually
show up at some later date. But in this case, it was gone. We had a
bit of bad luck with the mail service. A card Sean shipped to us from
Kansas, was "Destroyed" and never arrived here, Our package also never
made it to the destination and our post office had no idea where it
is. I guess that is what we get for cheaping out on the postage.

So, now, 1500$ later plus, we have most of the items to build another
prototype and hopefully we can finish this before year end. The sad
thing is the fact that now we have to ship everything EMS. However EMS
costs about 300$ to ship the prototype and it can take up to 3 weeks
in spite of the fact that we pay for 3 day shipping. This is due in
part to the anti-terror measures in place in which they do not send
any item over 16 ounces direct to the US.

But alas, we have the new items in hand and will have it together
soon. Stay tuned for more.

I second Bill's comment regarding postal "loss". I purchased ten
cassettes/tapes last summer and they never arrived. More than $400
vanished...

Antoine and all,

Nothing since 2011. I guess we can consider this dead and gone. :(

Anyone comment on what might have happened to Drew? It sounded so promising.
