Hello everyone.

I use Mercury already but am impressed enough with Peg 4 to move over to it
instead of OE. The only drawback with Peg is that it has no password control
for each user (in Windows) but I guess that'll be sorted eventually, eh?

Anyway, two things. Firstly is it possible to import my messages from OE5.5
to Peg 4 without simply mailing them to myself? Secondly, what are the file
types for sent and received messages in my mail folder? (CNM, etc?)

Cheers all.

Convert Email messages from Outlook to Pegasus
This is a two step process if you are now using Outlook. If you are
using Outlook Express, skip Step One.

Step One - Outlook to Outlook Express
1. Open Outlook Express (not Outlook)
2. In dropdown menu: File/Import select type of files to import <Outlook>
3. (program will search and find existing Outlook folders). Select the
Outlook message folder to import into Outlook Express, and import.

Step Two - Outlook Express to Pegasus
1. Run Windows Explorer and note where your Pegasus mailbox folder is
located (usually C:\Program Files\Pmail\mail)
2. Run Pegasus and clean all messages out of your inbox. The inbox will be
the location of the imported messages and it is easier to do things with
the inbox folder empty. Close Pegasus.
3. At this point you should have two programs running, Windows Explorer and
Outlook Express. On the Outlook Express folder screen, highlight all
messages in a folder that you wish to copy into Pegasus. Click and drag
the highlighted messages into the Windows Explorer folder identified in
step one above (the Pegasus mailbox).
4. Open a command prompt window
a. Change to the directory identified in step one (the Pegasus mailbox).
b. All the newly copied messages will have an extension of eml. Rename
these to a cnm extension which is the extension used by Pegasus.
(Type ren *.eml *.cnm)
c. Type exit to close the command prompt window.
5. Run Pegasus. The newly imported files will be in the Pegasus INBOX.
Move them to a directory of your choice.

I do not know of a way to import entire directory folders from Outlook
Express into Pegasus. You will have to repeat the above for each folder
one at a time.
