navigator object

Hi all,
I tried to create an object that I could use to keep informations from
one web page to one other.
So I create this object like a member of the navigator object :

navigator.user = new Object();
navigator.user.num = 1;
navigator.user.num_module = 1;
navigator.user.num_theme = 1;
navigator.user.libelle_module = "Tutorat";
</script>

so, when I change the web page displayed, I can still access the
informations stored in the first web page (thanks to the user object)

In netscape, my user object is persistent , and can be access from
wherever I want ..
But in IE it doesnt work, the object is destroy when I change of web
page... why ?
how can I keep my user object persistent in IE too ?
