World's First PC based Arabic
WWW/Internet Browser Available

June 1995

Video On Line has announced the first PC World Wide Web/Internet browser
in Arabic. Available immediately from Video On Line is the first browser
for navigation on the Internet/ World Wide Web (WWW) for the Arab world.

The browser, called Video On Line 1.0, is already available in 12 different
languages and combines the most recent technology in electronic publishing
which allows a user friendly hypertextual navigation, thus, keeping in line
with the Video On Line philosophy.

The software allows for the reading of Arabic texts from right to left, the
perfect integration of Arab and English documents, and the use of Hindi
numbers (used in many Arabic speaking countries).
The Arabic version of Video On Line browser is not only compatible with
Arabic MS-Windows but also with the HTML standard. This means the browser
recognizes, maintains and uses all the standards which are present today in
the world of personal computers and the Internet.

In addition, Video On Line 1.0 allows for the simultaneous viewing of multiple
documents (MS-Windows' Multiple Document Interface), the use of data, images
and audio with the best technology available today. The browser also comes
with a guide for the creation of HTML documents in Arabic. The new browser is
distributed for free by Video On Line and will allow the entire Arab world to
use the World Wide Web/Internet.
