[comp.windows.x] Bitstream contributes Type1 outlines for Charter and Courier fonts

Bitstream Inc. last month provided eight Postscript Type 1 fonts to
the MIT X Consortium, four styles each of the Bitstream Charter and
Courier typefaces.
In March of 1991, Bitstream provided its Speedo font scaling
technology along with eight similar fonts in Speedo format to the X
Consortium. With this donation of the Bitstream fonts in Type 1
format, users of the X Window System will have the option to work with
Bitstream Speedo fonts and Speedo font scaling technology, or
Bitstream Type 1 fonts and the Type 1 font scaling technology provided
by IBM and included as contributed software in X11 Release 5.
The fonts are available for anonymous FTP in contrib/Bitstream-Type1.tar
on export.lcs.mit.edu. You will need approximately 1 Mb of disk space
to install them.
