And once more, it's booked out before I get to register my son - we'll
just have to turn up and hope for the best.
Could we please sign in for a number of weeks at a time? Six or eight
maybe?
Thanks for running the Dojo, though, it's brilliant for Ciarán & Co!

Sorry Sabine. We've just moved to a new booking system, and whilst we can't guarantee anything we do now have the power to assign tickets to people or use codes to have certain batches of tickets available to certain people (as seen in our trial). Hopefully this will ease the issues people like you who've been coming for a long time have been having.

Ben.

Oh, also, we're looking at expanding to other locations in Dublin which should alleviate some pressure on the Science Gallery one.

Great stuff. We'd be very keen to be part of a north Dublin CD. We
have about six kids based on Clontarf/ Raheny who would be very
interested.

Guys,

Rather than cursing the dark tell us what you need from a premises and we should see what we can rustle up between us.

Top of my head bandwidth and wifi,
how many kids?
what else should be on the list?
What kind of area - my mind outside the M50
Do you know the current spread of participants between North, West, South and City Centre

Regards

Jan

We have a location in North Dublin (Clontarf to be precise), we're just working on finalising the space with the owner at the moment. However, I was only informed of this 2 days ago. Next problem is mentors, but that's another thing we're busily working on in the background. You may see me complain a lot, but both I and others are doing a ton of work to get on top of this. Still leaves me with short term problems.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound defensive. I was more trying to set out the position that CoderDojo in Dublin is in. Lots of stuff in the pipeline. As I said, one thing I do need is people who are willing to become mentors. Generally they don't need to be the best programmers, but they do need a bit of patience and the willingness to think of new ways of explaining things. We'll always need 1-2 mentors to guide the class over all, these are the ones that are hard to get because they need to be able to do all that the normal mentors can do, plus they need to be able to come up with the course content and present it in a meaningful way, think on their feet when they get questions and be good at what they do. So if you know anyone who fits any of these please put me in touch!

Ben.

Hi Ben,

I think many people would love to help out. Just tell us what you need
and between us all I'm sure we can get it done. Many hands make light
work right?

How does one sign up for mentoring? Conor and myself would be
interested. We're both professional and hobby programmers living in
Dublin.

hi Ben,

for some reason this whole conversation showed as being "read" in my
gmail, so just catching up now.

I would also be willing to help with the Clontarf Coder Dojo.
