Subject: July 2 - We Are Brothers & Sisters
{snip}
The event is a solidarity action with the people of Georgia who will soon be suffering under an oppressive law modeled after Arizona. We will gather to voice our opposition to any such laws in NJ and to oppose the deployment of "Secure Communities" and the expansion of immigration detention in Essex County.

Dear Brothers and sisters,
Justice Alliance Network and other organizations around NJ as American Friends Service committee, Wind of the Spirit, Passaic County Coalition for Immigrant Rights, plans to hold a rally in Elizabeth. Going together with the National Day of Solidarity with the undocumented brothers and sisters of the state of Georgia in opposition to HB-87 law, which was recently enacted by Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia. (A similar Arizona's law SB-1070).
As you know, this secure community program wants to be imposed in this state and also is being accepted by other states government representatives and slowly is spreading as well as Utah, Florida and Georgia.
We can not remain silent. we need to demand, be united and start working in our local communities. Elizabeth and surrounding areas are towns with more Latinos and immigrants from everywhere. We can not be indifferent to the outrage, and we can not accept this program in NJ. That's why we need to join efforts and work in unity.
This event will take place on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in Elizabeth. We are waiting for other groups that want to join the "National Day of Solidarity" These demonstrations will be wide USA simultaneously participating in this civil resistance.
We will demand:
- Solidarity with the brothers of Georgia and the firm opposition of HB-87 in Georgia.
- The cancellation of the program of safe communities in NJ.
- No to mass arrests and deportations.
- Respect for human rights and dignity.
- Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
Knowing that your dedication and service to your community is exemplary, we hope to see you on Thursday, June 2nd at 7.pm at the youth Center in Elizabeth. To make matters pertaining to this event. We count on your participation.
Sincerely,

Queridos hermanos,
Atte,
