Immigrants Join Anti-NATO week of Actions Targeting the New Immigration Court Building

Immigrant advocates and groups to protest immigration system and procedures
Chicago IL
,- Even though NATO summit is only a few days away , actions around the city are already underway. On Tuesday May 15th, Immigrants join the anti-NATO week of actions by targeting the new immigration court building located at 525 W. Van Buren Chicago IL.
On “family unity day” immigrant rights advocates and families who are being affected by immigration policies come together to deliver a strong message to the US government, President Barack Obama, Local, State and Federal enforcement agencies and those in between who contribute directly or indirectly to the destruction of them immigrant subpopulation.
Some of the organizers are calling the criminalization of immigrants and the massive deportations as a form of “Ethnic Cleansing” specific targeting immigrants as a social group and deliberately and unconstitutionally carry out by the US government-under the leadership of President Obama.
With this initiative, immigrant rights groups want to expose the ongoing injustices and lies that the US government continues to perpetuate against immigrants. They state that in order to stop these atrocities, immigrant should be seen as human beings and not as possible suspects/criminals and that “we must called these injustices for what they are: inhumane and unjust, rooted in a history of U.S. racism, anti-immigrant sentiment, and a myriad other discriminatory acts done by those in power,” said one of the organizers for the event.

Where: March begins at Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission, 3442 W. 26th St. Chicago (10AM)
March Step Off Time: 10am from Our Lady of Guadalupe Mission, 3442 W. 26th St. Chicago, headed to Immigration Court Building on 525 W. Van Buren. (corner with Canal St. )
