Hi, No one is illegal, and it follows that we should be for allowing and legalizing the status of all immigrants. They are here because U.S. imperialism is there, stealing and impoverishing people in the interests of the rich here...It follows that anyone who is against U.S. wars of aggression and interference abroad and the 800 U.S. military bases of interference and occupation should oppose the Dream Act legislation. This legislation, sponsored by Senator Durbin, among others, is an attempt to lure undocumented into the U.S. military-- in exchange for legal status. The U.S. military desperately needs able cannon fodder for its surge in Afghanistan and other war efforts for oil and to surround China and Russia and Iran, etc. So it uses every device it can-- militarizing schools, the Dream Act, etc....So, in short, oppose Rigo's deportation, but oppose the Dream Act. The City passed a resolution opposing U.S. participation in the U.S. war in Iraq, and supporting the Dream Act would contradict that. Speak out against that provision in the City Council resolution. -- Neal Resnikoff
