Following a spirited 3,000 person rally and march 130 Occupy Chicago supporters were arrested last night in Grant Park. They were handcuffed and taken to the CPD precinct at 18th St and State St. Very few of Occupiers have been released and they may be held for 48 hours to discourage and intimidate the Occupy Chicago movement. Last week 200 Occupiers were arrested and released within hours.

Among those arrested are nurses, retired steelworkers, teachers, social workers, students, community activists, union activists and many others.

1. Call the Mayor's office at 312 744 5000 (or 311) to demand the immediate release of all Occupiers.

2. Join the protest at 18th St and State St to demand the release of Occupiers and to let our brothers and sisters there know we are standing in solidarity with them.

3. If you can: send out press releases, contact your local political representatives and forward this announcement to all lists.
