Durante décadas, las comunidades inmigrantes hemos estado luchando contra
el aumento de la criminalización, represión y leyes injustas. La demanda
del Movimiento por los Derechos de Inmigrantes ha sido: Legalización para
Todos. Ahora tenemos en el senado un proyecto de ley el cual está haciendo
promovido como la tal anhelada “reforma migratoria.”
 
*Pero, ¿es eso cierto o sólo propaganda?*
 
· ¿A caso los políticos finalmente están escuchando las demandas de
la comunidad inmigrante?
 
· ¿O será que la tal “reforma” es solo un juego más, será que es
una propaganda llena de mentiras, la cual usan para sacar provecho del voto
inmigrante?
 
· ¿Es acaso que los políticos están tratando de aparentar como si
fueran “pro inmigrantes” cuando bajita la mano están empujando un proyecto
de ley antiinmigrante?
 
*Te invitamos a que asistas a este taller informativo para explorar
preguntas como las siguientes:*
 
· ¿Qué dice el proyecto de ley en realidad - no exageración de los
medios, pero el documento en sí mismo?
 
· ¿Va a beneficiar a las personas - quién está incluido y quién
está excluido?
 
· ¿Va a parar las deportaciones, ayudar a la reunificación
familiar, y acaso va a dar estatus a los inmigrantes indocumentados?
 
· ¿Cómo podemos educarnos, aprender y compartir información
verdadera?
 
· ¿Cómo podemos organizarnos y seguir luchando por lo que siempre
hemos estado luchando – una verdadera justicia para todos?
 
Este taller se inicia con los miembros y amigos de la *Campaña Moratoria a
las Deportaciones*. Nos reunimos para desenmascarar las mentiras y la
publicidad falsa detrás de la propaganda llamada "reforma migratoria".
Hemos estado involucrados en las luchas de justicia para los inmigrantes,
campañas educativas, y también en la lucha contra el Centro de Detención de
Crete IL.

"Immigration Reform."

communities?
 
· Or is "Reform" a false advertisement just to capitalize on the
immigrant vote?
 
· Are politicians trying to appear as pro-immigrant while pushing
anti-immigrant legislation?
 
*Join us for a workshop to ask the following questions: *
 
· What does the bill actually say -- not the media hype, but the
document itself?
 
· Will it benefit people -- who is included, and who is excluded?
 
· Will it stop deportations, help family reunification, and grant
status to undocumented immigrants?
 
· How can we educate ourselves, organize and struggle for true
justice for all?
 
This workshop is initiated by members and friends of Moratorium on
Deportations Campaign. We come together to unmask the lies and false
advertising behind the so-called "Immigration Reform" propaganda. We have
been involved in migrant justice struggles, educational campaigns as well
as the fight to against the Crete Detention Center.
