I see that no one posted a report on the rally Thursday at 26th and California for a Moratorium on Deportations and opposing the role of the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) being allowed in the Cook County jail. This demonstration was mounted in opposition to the Arizona 1070 law which is implementation of the Obama Administration's daily record of over 1000 deportations, well over the record set by the Bush Administration.

The rally in Chicago took place at 4 p.m. after a short march from a nearby mall.  Some 300-400 participated in the rally, with speeches from many organizations supporting a Moratorium on Deportations.

There will be an open follow-up meeting Tuesday evening at 6:30 at Casa Aztlan, 1835 S. Racine.
