Community and Religious Leaders Demand to President Obama an executive order to stop deportations and for a moratorium on ICE raids
-Reactions against the Arizona law SB1070 and March for Legalization on May 1st-
Chicago, IL-Community
and Religious leaders call upon Obama to do the right thing. “Once again our
community has to raise their voices to demand respect for our GOD given rights,”
said Father Jose Landaverde from Our Lady of Guadalupe Anglican Mission,
“Illinois is Not Arizona and we will not wait until we have to carry immigration
papers simply because we are Latino.”
The ARIZONA law SB1070 criminalizes people of color and sets a dangerous precedent.
On Saturday MAY 1st, we are calling everyone to express their outrage at the ARIZONA racist SB1070 law, the courage to march against hate and for a just and comprehensive immigration law.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Anglican Mission is in the heart of Little Village. On a daily basis it ministers to immigrant families who are struggling to keep their families and lives intact. They will continue with the Mission of bringing GODs peace and love to all who are marginalized and in particular trough these prophetic times of unjust persecution.
