Subject:  Report about March 19 demo
From:  Betty Resnikoff

I want to make an important addition to the reports already posted on the M19 demo.

On the same day of our M19 demonstration against U.S. wars and occupations abroad and against repression, cuts in social spending and attacks on workers’ rights inside the U.S., the U.S. imperialists and their  allies launched another war--against Libya.  At our demonstration this new crime against humanity was denounced on signs, in fliers and in speeches.  One of the speakers asked the protesters to express their opinion of the bombing and a huge cry of opposition and condemnation came from the crowd. Speakers also pointed out the hypocrisy of the U.S. --talking about giving humanitarian assistance to Libya while it continues massacring Iraqis, Afghanis, and Pakistanis and backs the mass slaughter of Gazans and the building of illegal settlements on Palestinian land by Israel.

My comments:  The opposition of the anti-war movement to the U.S./UN War against Libya is our contribution to world peace. I think we should have a campaign of protests and leafleting against this War, like the ones organized last two Fridays at Dearborn and Adams during the evening rush hour,   which handed out over 1400 fliers to passersby.
