Hale Street Link Riverside Drive closure

Dear Stakeholder,
 
RE: Riverside Drive partial closure
 
As a key stakeholder/community member in the area of the Hale Street Link works I am writing to inform you of changes that will be occurring on Riverside Drive, South Brisbane to allow for construction of the Hale Street Link.

Riverside Drive will be closed between the areas of Bouquet Street and the Merivale Rail Bridge.
 
These works may impact the way your group uses Riverside Drive, either for parking, recreational or access usage. Please see the attached notification flyer for details on the closure. [being uploaded to the CBD BUG website soon - Sebastian]
 
The closure will take place in two stages -
 
Stage 1 - Closed to vehicles - May 2008
 
- Riverside Drive from Bouquet Street to Merivale Rail Bridge closed to all vehicular traffic
- No parking will be permitted in the construction area
- Vehicular access to Riverside Drive via Boundary Street will close June 2008 - exact dates   will be announced soon
- Vehicular access will be via Jane Street, South Brisbane

Stage 2 - Closed to pedestrians and cyclists - dates to be announced
 
- Riverside Drive from Bouquet Street to Merivale Rail Bridge closed to all pedestrians and cyclists
- Diversion routes will be in place up Bouquet Street and onto Montague Road
- Please watch for directional signage
 
These closures are for your safety - please take caution in construction zones.
 
Please post this notification on your office noticeboard, upload on your website, or print and distribute to staff and members of your user group.
 
Hale Street Link is a 60km/h tolled four-lane cross-river connection from Coronation Drive and Hale Street in Milton, to Montague Road, Merivale and Cordelia streets in South Brisbane.

Has the local member been told about this? Ronan was vociferous about his constituents over on Corro Drive, haven’t heard a peep from Ms Bligh.

And will peds/cyclists be able to use the riverside once the bridge is finished??
