Hi,

out of curiosity: is it possible to burn all files from D2007 Download
Edition on a DVD, so you can reinstall it later without internet connection?

What I did was copy the setup files that it leaves in plcace to a DVD.
in XP they should be in :

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\{AB3EC276-D261-4943-A921-1CC1C6799AED}

I believe it totals about 1.5 Gigs.

Team is working on an ESD backup/burn process. It will either be a way to
directly backup/burn your cached install packages (that were d/l'd from the
server backbone, or a backup fileset that you can d/l.

The install is already done and shipping, so we need to create a backup
procedure that will work with the shipping setup files.

I don't think you should be doing that. Why not instead just a) let me
decide where to put the downloaded files (default to the temp folder as it
is now), and b) when running the installer ask me if I want to use the files
from a selectable folder or download. This is a "problem" that has already
been solved numerous times, so maybe you should not spend too much time on
re-inventing the wheel.

Fair enough. And anyways I don't have time to argue now 'cause I've just got
D2007 installed and hafta pla... WORK with it ;-)
