Compass 0.10 is in pre-release and I have a bug filed that I'm trying to understand.

Here's the bug:

I currently suspect that the change to the typography css in this commit:

which added this line:
html { font-size:100.01%; }

Might be to blame. But since this commit is a mish-mash of bug fixes it's really hard for me trace back to the original Lighthouse ticket that prompted the change.

Can someone please elucidate this change for me?

Thanks,
chris

P.S. Please consider using more granular commits in the future and referencing the exact LH bug.

Hey there,

I think this bug is easy to fix if you play a little bit with the font-size used on de body {}..

Let's say (don't mention the math) when the HTML is 100.01%, the body should have a 99,99...

This is just a guess but i think it will solve your problem

Let me know, thanks

I'm not trying to fix a particular bug for a particular app. I port blueprint to the Sass stylesheet syntax as part of the compass project, and so if this change breaks a bunch of apps that depend on my software, I have to document why and help them understand how to upgrade.

Chris,

Drinking preferences aside, I'll have a look into this as soon as I
can. I'm not convinced that 100.01% is the problem, but more
importantly, this is an important fix that is supposed to ensure text
doesn't change size drastically when you increase or decrease it
relatively in later elements (hard to explain). You can search for
font-size:100.01% to see more.

Chris,

Sorry to be so silent for so long, I'm just starting to get back into
the swing of things today.

The latest version of Blueprint, 0.9, has: font-size:100% on body. So
that 100.01% that I added some time back is no longer present. Is
Compass using the latest version of Blueprint? If you are still seeing
this bug, then there must be something else causing it.
