Show Entry in Catalog rather than Actual Item

I'm having a bizarre problem and so far it affects one commonly used
file and a commonly used folder. When I activate Quicksilver and type
the item in, instead of the icon of the item I get a question mark
icon, and the items correct name but with a (Catalog) after it. The
action pane shows "Show Entry in Catalog". The path to the item shown
below the icon window is correct, however it will not show the actual
item or treat it normally where I can open it, descend into it, etc.
It just keeps showing the "Catalog" entry whatever that is. Does
anyone have any idea what this is and how I can fix it?

Quit Quicksilver, navigate to ~/Library/Caches/ and delete the
Quicksilver com.blacktree.Quicksilver folders, then launch
Quicksilver. It will rescan your catalog and everything will be OK. On
a somewhat related note: which version are you using? I have seen this
problem with older builds, but it has not come up with the newest.

I get this in b57 (3840) about once every other week on average.

Could be a plugin you have installed, then. I just remembered that I
did a plugin purge recently to clean up stuff I don't use.

Thanks, I figured I needed to delete something because manual rescans
weren't fixing it, I just wasn't sure what to delete.

I'm on B57/Snow Leopard. The last change I made was activate the
"User Interface Access" plugin (although it doesn't seem to be working
correctly). If it corrupts again, I'll reset it and disable that
plugin and see if that helps.

I've seen the same problem in B57 (3840). I quit, wiped out the cache,
and let it rescan the catalog. Seems to be OK, but I think it happened
a couple times. Here's the list of plugins I have enabled - any idea
what might be causing it?

Apple Address Book Module
Bezel Interface
Calculator Module
Clipboard Module (installed, but disabled)
Cyberduck Module
Growl Notifier
HotKey Triggers
iCal Module (+)
iChat Module
iPhoto Module (installed, but disabled)
iTunes Module
Keychain Module
Primer Interface
Safari Module
Terminal Module

has anyone figured out a definitive answer to this problem facing b57
users?

FWIW, I haven't seen the problem again since I deleted the cache and
Quicksilver rebuilt it.

was it just the single cache folder that contains one file (at least
on my machine) that you deleted? i've tried that but the problem came
back soon after.

ok i had to delete the folder "~/Library/Caches/Quicksilver" in
addition to the one mentioned above. that fixed it. for now.
