Hello everyone :)

In addition to the activation hotkey, I have enable the modifier-only
activation via Single-Shift. It works great. For the longest time, I'd
loose this modifier-only activation very rarely : the « usual » hotkey
(which I have set to Ctrl-Alt-Space) keeps working. Only the modifier-
only is lost.

Everytime, going back to the login screen and log back in to my
account restored the modifier-only activation ! So it has to do with
something loginwindow does ? I don't know…

It happened very rarely as I said and since I had a way of solving the
problem, I never reported it…

Recently, it happens very much more frequently. Exactly the same
thing : only the modifier-only dissapears, going back to the login
screen restores it…

Now, of course, I'm wondering what I have recently done which made
this issue happen much more recently and all I can think of is that
I've recently installed TextExpander on my machine. That's only a
guess. I don't know if it's the culprit. I have actually disable
TextExpander and will use my machine for a little while without it to
see… As a wild guess, I'm wondering if it has something to do with the
“Enable access for assistive devices” in Universal Access since I know
TextExpander requires it to be on…

What do you think ? Has anyone ever experience what I'm describing ?
Any ideas to solve/identifying the problem ?

Thank you in advance for any comments :)

Running QS ß54 on Leopard 10.5.2.

Hey there,

I think I can now confirm that TextExpander is the culprit
unfortunately… Anyone using TextExpander can confirm this ?

Thanks for your message.
So it's more complicated than simply TextExpander...
In my case, TextExpander definitely << triggers >> the bug but if you
don't have the issue it might be a combination of several things.

Unfortunately, I can't think of a way to narrow down what causes the
bug...

Ha ah ! I have news !

As I suspected in my first message, it has to do with “Enable access
for assistive devices” in the Universal Access part of the SystPrefs.
When the bug happen (loosing the modifier-only activation), simply
disable “Enable access for assistive devices” and it comes back ! (the
modifier-only activation :D)

That's all I can do : I've narrow down as much as possible the issue…

I'm having the same problem... 10.5.3 and ß54.

I don't have the “Enable access for assistive devices” checked and
never had.

Another other ideas?

Cheers...
