I am new to Quicksilver, I can't work out why I can't get any of my
emails to come up in a search.

There is obviously something I am doing wrong, but can't work out
what...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

You have to right arrow into Mail.app and then into a mailbox.

Instructions in the manual,

I have enhanced features enabled but right arrow from Mail.app doesn't
work. Any ideas?

All the prerequisites are listed in the manual in the mail section:

Thanks for your reply, Howard. The above message was a typo - I was
actually running β55. Reverting back to β54 now has solved the
problem.

As said below, I explained it all with pictures in the mail section of
the manual.

If you're a newbie I think you'll get a lot out of it.

I am reading page 77 of the dox. "IMAP mailboxes will not appear. To
use them in Quicksilver drag them from Mail.app into the Catalog
(e.g., under Custom)."

I am able to right arrow from mail.app into the box with the inbox,
drafts, etc. How do I drag into the catalog?

I don't use IMAP so I haven't tried this myself, but open the QS
Catalog preferences and select custom. Open Mail.app and drag the
mailbox from the left column in Mail.app to the catalog.

You can also drag to and from QS, so if you bring something up in the
first pane you should be able to drag it to any other application. I
often bring up a folder in the first pane and drag a file from the
desktop to it. See the Drag & Drop section for more (p44 of version
0.14).

Aha, you need to drag the inbox.imapmbox and sent.imapmbox to the
catalog!

I spent a lot of time today trying to get this work. Maybe it's just
me, but there are a couple things that don't add up in this
discussion.

1) I was never able to drag any mailbox from the left hand column of
the Mail.app to the Custom pane in the Catalog. It would just snap
back, like it wasn't possible to do. Tried on both local mailboxes as
well as IMAP mailboxes.

2) Based on what was said above:
"Aha, you need to drag the inbox.imapmbox and sent.imapmbox to the
catalog!"
I take that as meaning that the person went into the ~/Library/Mail/
IMAP-*/ directory and dragged the actual file system folder for the
corresponding mailbox into the custom Catalog list.

While that does work, it seems to circumvent the actual Mail.app
application and is just working on files in the file system for all
intents and purposes, which could have problems or unintended side
effects. For one the "Move to mailbox..." doesn't allow me to move to
any of the mailboxes. And if you were to move it to another folder,
Mail.app would be unaware of it's move since that was just a file
system move.

Does this sound right?

Thanks,
Rich

I"m not sure. I don't have imap mailboxes so I can't try them.
Trying now with a local mailbox on 10.5.3 with B54 3815, I find I
can't drop a mailbox from the left column of Mail.app into QS's
catalog window.

Yes working via file system files should work and may have issues.

My advice is to right-arrow into Mail.app in QS's first pane and to
use spotlight to search for email messages.
