Perhaps this is so obvious that you have already done this, but why don't you
send copies of his unsolicited mail to AOL with a complaint cover letter? He
threatens doing the same to you, when he is really the one guilty of unsolicited
mail--heck, harassment, as he is participating in this forum solely for the
purpose of threatening you, with no pretense of serious discussion. This
gentleman (insert sarcastic "ahem") is going into YOUR neighborhood to tell you
to stay out of HIS! Helloooo, Larry---time to turn the lightbulb on.
AOL should be more than happy to send him a warning, after all, they would be
out of business with their charge-by-the-minute rate (rather, OVERcharge) if
it weren't for all those chat rooms full of gay men running up their bills.

Subj: Another Hate Letter From Larry Stimely
Remember Larry Stimely, the crackpot who sent me an unsolicited hate-e-mail
response to an article I published, informing me that gay Americans are
unwelcome in America's suburbs?
Well, he's back with another hate letter that is equally bizarre. This time
Stimley writes that if I post this, his latest and decidedly more personal
threat, he will seek revenge. So here it is, Larry Stimley's latest
incoherent lambaste of gay America mixed with impotent personal threats, a
sort of high tech equivalent of sitting on his front porch and shaking his
fist at passing cars.
I have suppressed the names on my mailing lists so that this avenging
net-loon won't have access to the list, but I feel certain he would really
enjoy your individual comments. This poor old guy must be desperate for
attention. If Larry Stimley truly doesn't want his unsolicited threatening
letters posted, all he has to do is stop sending them to me.
