I was going to ask this on BGG, but might as well ask here!

Every year, we have a big ol' mini-con for my birthday with some game theme. This year I'm leaning towards "greed is good" games where the player with the most money wins.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Power Grid and Acquire are at the top of my list. Corporate America looks fun. What else?

Thanks,
Bart

If 2-player games are okay, my vote goes to Jambo.
Finding the balance between spending money to gain more money and ending your turn with 60 gold (giving the other player 1 more turn, and hoping they don't beat you) is the best part of the game.

Junta is one such candidate. Best with 7 players.

Oh, wait... you meant *in-game* money. My mistake.

Imperial
Although not "most money wins" but definitely in the spirit of "greed is good" as very cynical: MachtSpiele aka PowerStruggle

not sure if you mean the most money in the win you the game, or if the most money will help you win the game.
for the latter you could consider Cyclades. Money are vital in Cyclades to win/perform actions.

Chicago Express has already been mentioned, as has Modern Art. The only game I'd add to that is Chinatown.

Good one - a much overlooked Martin Wallace game

For Sale is a good one.

Light, but a bit of strategy. Easy to learn/teach.

First half is auction, second half is a bit of bluffing. Quite good.

Smallworld... yeah, it's a stretch. The gold coins are just themed victory points...

Acquire is a good bet. It's a good classic econ game--though perhaps verging on the abstract.

Merchant of Venus perhaps? If you want a good race to richness game that's 4 times longer, and a space theme.

The 18xx series is probably the grand-daddy of them all, but you would probably need an experienced group to help you learn its nuances.  1830 is probably what most people start with and it is commercially available.  The reprint is much derided, but it is playable.  If you try it, invest in a set of poker chips to make the money easier.

There are several pirate-themed games where most money wins. As with Small World, they are mostly glorified victory points. My favorites are Loot and Libertalia.
