Hi All
can any one tell me how to setup I2C tool 'i2c-tools-3.0.1-r0' on
linux on beagleboard.

What are you trying to do? I build the i2c-tools which came as part of
lmsensors-2.10.8 and the i2cdetect, i2cget etc which came with that
just worked.

i m trying to interface image sensor with beagleboard, for this i need
to program image sensor via i2c protocol. can u help me for this.

You can create a program user-side, using ioctl to transfer the data you need.
Just download the tools and you will need the i2c-dev.h from them
