All,

We are using Airtel Broadband and wanted to avail a static IP, the solution they provide is to downgrade on our existing connection which is 100GB download to 20GB download. I was wondering if there was any alternate ways one could get a static IP, we tried dyndns but it didnt work unfortunately :( ..

Has anyone had any issues like this before?

Regards,
Vineet

Hi Vineet,
for vote purpose do you need static ip?
We use dyndns for configuring DVRs at client's places (for remove viewing of cctv cameras).

Naimesh

We  are working on a GPU system and wanted to be able to access it from outside as in let us work with the server from a remote location hence the need for the static IP. We tried using dyndns but it doesnt work for Airtel connections. apparently  until you have a business connection. Do you have any idea about that ?

to use dyndns, you need to have a router that supports dyndns, and has an option for port forwarding.
I think airtel's router model no. - 450tc1 has these facilities. are you using the same one?
or else, you can call me on 9909926870
