Hi,
We're a bunch of 10people from MSRIT who are looking forward to start cycling after
getting inspired from 'Its not about the Bike' by Lance Armstrong.. :)

Can anyone suggest us some nice and enjoyable cycling trails around Bangalore within
25km (50km for the total trip) to start with??

We'll be starting from Malleshwaram.

Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Pavan

Hey Pavan,
I stay in malleshwaram, for 25km one way you can cycle towards yelanka
or airport road, this road is pretty big and its a flat road. From 18th
cross just go straight toards hebbal flyover.

Yeah been wanting to do some offroading in hesarghatta for a while now. But when ask about *trail*, do u mean mtb trail? Or just good roads to cycle on? Wonder if you can go cycling inside jp park in mathikere..

Shankar

Hey,

I collected some routes in and around Bangalore which the people of
the IISc Bikers Network did in the last weeks. Maybe something is
suitable for you: http://www.fell.it/category/abroad/india/cycle-tours/

My personal priority is to avoid heavy traffic roads such as Tumkur or
Dodaballapur Road. I like scenery even if the road is barely visibly
vanishing somewhere between the shrubs...
Since we did Hesaraghatta last week, I think we will check out Turalli
this weekend, but it is not yet fixed. Only the fact THAT we will go
somewhere that's what we know. Feel free to join.... Anyway IISc is
just around the corner :D

hi Pawan,
i'm from MSRIT too.. i'm currently in 3rd sem.. mech dept.. can we get
in touch.. and
i did a solo to nandi last week which was also my first long ride.. i
think it wont be difficult to do 70+ rides from the start.. and this
opens up a lot more ride options too..

Based on the info I got here as well as some other bikers,
I found out that the best route for starters will be either
GKVK campus or Hesaraghatta, with lots of greenery around.. :)

Planning to go to Hesaraghatta next week...

Thanks all for the Info!

Try the road from MS palya to hesarghatta, hardly any traffic.

Hesarghatta to tumkur there is a interior road... try that!!!

We took a left from doddaballapura to hesarghatta and went thru some
unknown roads crossing many villages. even i dont remember the route
and place name but it was awesome.....

just get lost man..... don't set a time and distance...

will be trying for hindupur tomorrow....

Hi,
Hesarghatta is a good route for bikers. I just tried this last week and it was amazing. However, the lake is dried, but the route is amazing.
